Description
The "Late Gothic Room," located on the first floor, features a vaulted wooden ceiling dating back to around 1500. The room also houses a green relief tile stove from the early 17th century, relocated from Wagenhausen to the castle in 1919.
On the same floor, the "Lower Bailiff's Room" showcases paintings and stained glass windows from the 17th century. The window ledge displays the alliance coats of arms Hohenlandenberg-Hegi and Hohenlandenberg-von Mülinen. These decorative window paintings, along with frescoes restored in 1919, are attributed to Hans Haggenberg. The green tower stove, dating back to the late 16th century and originally from Rheineck, was also moved to Hegi.
Moving to the second floor, the "Upper Bailiff's Room" features remnants of carvings created by Blesy Wercher in 1496, originally from the church in Erlenbach. The painted wall inscriptions are from the 17th century, and the fresco remnants date back to 1512, originating from the church in Turbenthal. Additionally, the colored heraldic windows in this room span the 16th and 17th centuries. The "Upper Chapel," a polygonal space with an octagonal star vault, is believed to have been built by Hugo's father, Jakob von Hohenlandenberg.
