Description
Wasserschloss Glatt, also known as Glatt Water Castle and it's location in Glatt, Sulz am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, is one of the oldest Renaissance castles in Southern Germany. Dating back to the 13th century, it was owned by the Neuneck family until 1671. In 1706, it passed to the Kloster Muri and later to the Fürst von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen. Since Sulz am Neckar's incorporation in 1975, the castle is owned by the city. It underwent extensive restoration from 1973 to 1989. Today, it houses the Kultur- und Museumszentrum Schloss Glatt, featuring museums, including one on local history, an Adelsmuseum, and a gallery. The castle's architecture reflects Renaissance style, with additions made in 1688. The surrounding Schlosspark adds to its charm.
