Drachenburg and Waaghaus in Gottlieben, 17th-century landmarks, form a unique ensemble by Lake Constance. The Drachenburg and Waaghaus Gottlieben Foundation aims to preserve and revitalize these architecturally significant structures, offering a diverse experience in hospitality and tourism, serving as a hub for empowerment, conferences, and family outings. Owned by Hotel Drachenburg & Waaghaus AG, the properties require urgent renovation and modernization. Despite challenges, a foundation was established in April 2020, acquiring the hotel in May 2020. The focus is on preserving the existing structures, but detailed analyses revealed more extensive deterioration and costly regulatory requirements.
