Description

Visconti Castle in Locarno, Switzerland, a Swiss heritage site, dates back to the 12th or 13th century. The castle underwent historical events, including partial demolition in 1531/32, restoration, and conversion into a museum. Speculations in 2004 suggested Leonardo da Vinci's involvement in its design. The castle witnessed changes in ownership, conflicts, and renovations, becoming a key administrative center. In 1531, due to financial constraints, much of it was demolished, leaving the palazzo. It served various roles until becoming a museum in 1921. Today, Museo civico e archeologico preserves Visconti Castle's rich history.
