Description

St. Petersberg Castle is a medieval fortress in Tyrol, west of Silz. Acquired by the Engelwerk in 1965, it became a monastery in 1979. Built on a hill, the castle dates back to the 13th century, featuring a five-story keep and a square tower. The Ursula Chapel replaced the original St. Peter's Chapel. Emperor Franz Josef I purchased and reconstructed the castle in 1893. Currently undergoing restoration, it remains a protected monument.
