Description
During excavations in 1978/79, burnt wood traces from the 11th century were found, revealing early origins. In the 13th century, Hartmann IV von Kyburg expanded the tower, adding floors and a chapel. The castle's outer walls were strengthened with megaliths, forming a robust structure. In 1996, a cellar from the 13th century was discovered in the outer bailey. Mörsburg underwent renovations in 1931, 1973/74, and from 2013 to 2018, ensuring its preservation and historical significance.
This castle museum is worth a visit, offering a captivating glimpse into local history. The experience greatly depends on the tour guide, who can provide an incredible presentation. Named after St. Mauricius, the castle boasts a unique chapel, meticulously designed following historical protocols, adding to its charm.

This is a restaurant built into one of the out buildings of Castle Moersburg, which is essentially a large tower and two tiered terassed courtyard. The castle is simple, yet beautiful for its rustic look. The castle may be visted, in the summer months and the restaurant serves local cuisine, and hosts Marriage dinners and Aperitifs as well.
