Description
In November 2001, the Cultural and Museum Center, Schloss Glatt, was inaugurated within Glatt Castle. It encompasses four museums housed in the main building and the former tithe barn. The barn saw the opening of a Farmers' Museum in 1996, showcasing rural and village crafts from Rottweil and Freudenstadt districts. The Castle Museum illustrates Glatt village's history and Glatt's dominion through exhibits mainly from Siegfried Esslinger's collection. Operated by the city of Sulz am Neckar and co-managed by the Citizens' and Cultural Association Wasserschloss Glatt, the museum is a rich cultural resource.
The Nobility Museum delves into the upper Neckar region's noble history, displaying an extensive weaponry collection. Additionally, the Schloss Glatt Gallery, managed by Rottweil district and the Zweckverband Oberschwäbische Elektrizitätswerke (OEW), serves as a regional art museum. The permanent exhibition showcases 170 items from the renowned Amber School, with special exhibitions featuring significant artworks from the upper Neckar cultural region.
