Rastatt Residential Palace

Rastatt Residential Palace began life as a luxurious hunting lodge until the beginning of the 18th century when Count Ludwig Wilhelm of Baden-Baden commissioned the Italian Domenico Rossi to design a complete and uniform ensemble comprising the palace with its surrounding town residences and gardens. Work was completed under the auspices of the Margrave’s widow who oversaw the rich interior decorations and furnishigns.
